TAFE NSW-The Northern Sydney Institute

Brenda has been in the education and training sector for more than 15 years and more recently at the Northern Sydney Institute as its Chief Operating Officer, driving the organisation’s strategic planning and development, and ensuring operations support the achievement of business goals. She is an executive member of the Institute, in addition to being a member of various TAFE NSW committees that work collaboratively to provide integrated training services across the state.

A graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors in addition to being a member of a variety of professional affiliations including the International Education Association of Australia, Brenda has had varied responsibilities throughout her career including international project management, strategy, compliance and business development.

Having worked abroad, particularly in China, Brenda believes that education and training play a critical role in supporting economic development and in meeting both individual aspirations and industry needs. For several years, she has been a mentor for both professional and undergraduate women and considers that mentoring and coaching are very effective mechanisms for leadership and capability development, particularly for women.

Through membership of EWA, Brenda hopes to continue her objective of lifelong learning and development through access to a network of interesting and influential women.
