Kerry-Anne Walsh
Director
KA Communications

KA Communications offers a full suite of political and media services for organisations and individuals needing to stake a claim in the political process and in the political media, or make an imprint on the general media landscape.

Specialising in straight talking advice, strategy, presentations and workshops, Kerry-Anne knows how politics and the media work, and shares her knowledge and experience with clients to help get their voices heard in a tough and crowded environment.

From 1984 to 2009, Kerry-Anne was at the pointed end of political reporting in newsrooms in the Canberra parliamentary press gallery: as chief political correspondent for News Limited and Fairfax papers; political editor for ABC Radio National’s Daybreak program; national affairs writer for the prestigious Bulletin magazine for six years; and executive producer of Channel Ten program, Face to Face, hosted by Kerry O’Brien. She was the inaugural political reporter for Sky News in the 1990s, and political commentator on a string of commercial and ABC stations.

The South China Morning Post, Singapore Straits Times, Irish Times and New Zealand newspapers have featured Kerry-Anne’s incisive take on Australian life. She appeared regularly on the ABC’s influential Insiders Program, and Radio New Zealand listeners continue to tune in to her weekly roundup of Australian affairs. Kerry-Anne remains a regular political commentator on Sky News Agenda.

Kerry-Anne established KA Communications in 1999 before returning to full-time journalism in 2003 as The Sun-Herald’s federal political editor and national commentator. She left in August 2009 to resume her business.

In July 2013, Kerry-Anne’s controversial book The Stalking of Julia Gillard: How the media and Team Rudd brought down the Prime Minister was published, quickly becoming a bestseller. It is currently being adapted for the big screen.
