Rhea Mercado GDipSc (Exercise Rehab) BHMS ESSAM AEP
Accredited Exercise Physiologist | Occupational Rehabilitation Consultant
Threesticks Pty Ltd

At the age of 21, Rhea founded her first Fitness & Exercise Physiology business with the aim of providing safe, effective, and affordable Exercise Rehabilitation services to her local community in Greater Western Sydney.

Rhea headed a team of Accredited Exercise Physiologists working primarily within the NSW Worker's Compensation Scheme which boasted a service area extending into the NSW Central Coast and NSW Southern Highlands. The company also continues to be the only facility within its area solely dedicated to Exercise Rehabilitation.

Feeling a need to return to her roots, Rhea is now the Director of Threesticks Pty Ltd and provides specialised Occupational Rehabilitation Services to the Greater Western Sydney community.

Rhea wholly believes that "Success without integrity is failure" and as such instilled this core value into her business and daily life.

"Taking time to live your life will only inspire your work" - By always doing what makes her smile, Rhea aims to continue to manage the work-life balance of owning a business, undertaking professional development, snowboarding in the winter, yearly overseas travel, and spending time with her family. In blazing her own trail, Rhea aspires to challenge stereotypes and inspire other women.

Rhea has diverse experience as an Accredited Exercise Physiologist within Government organisations, Private Rehabilitation Providers, Sporting Teams, and the Health & Fitness Industry. Rhea has served as a NSW Board Member of Exercise & Sports Science Australia (ESSA formally AAESS) and assists Western Sydney Medicare Local with promoting Exercise Physiology Services. Rhea believes that Exercise Physiology as a Allied Health Profession is still in its infancy and is excited about its imminent recognition as an essential element of primary healthcare for both prevention and management of injury and disease.

Rhea holds a B.A Human Movement Studies from University of Technology, Sydney and a Graduate Diploma in Science (Exercise Rehabilitation) from University of Wollongong.

In joining EWA Rhea hopes to learn from other like-minded and successful women; create productive business relationships; and share her knowledge and experience - whilst having a bunch of fun along the way.
